loosing her babushka

her house is filled with cats
shopping carts of cats
streaking after balls of yarn

she could try an iron
to straighten her hair
but she likes it wild with snow

5.

her dollies are snowflakes
her fingers trace frost on windows
leaving memoirs

6.

the kettle whistles
a young man noticing
she turns red as poinsettas
