METAMORPHOSIS IN UNION SQUARE PARK
Almost sunrise and I sit alone in Union Square Park, aware
of crepuscular creatures awakening now, and although I can’t
see them, I feel their presence, I hear their hidden graceful
movements, and I wait.
On this chilly morning in autumn, I am very still, almost motionless,
and the only human in the park, I believe, until my eyes penetrate the
darkness and capture the little boy just a few feet away. The ghostly
boy, strangely familiar, almost surreal, smiles at me. Then suddenly,
with much gusto, he dances.
Like an ancient shaman or rabbi or priest, he dances with God and the
heavens and the earth and the sky, inhaling mystical air and exhaling
joy and serenity which he shares with me. As he spins around again
and again, we fly together across an invisible galaxy of love.
When we return to the park, he stops abruptly, his gold eyes gazing
into mine, compelling me to close my visionary eyes. I obey. And I
experience an intolerable joy.
But when I open my eyes, he is gone. Still, I feel him nestled in my
soul loving me, and letting me love.
Now, my eyes, the color of gold like the boy’s, sweep across the
darkness drifting away, flowing softly into a distant light approaching,
rushing slowly toward the park, and becoming the light itself, during this
mystical metamorphosis
as the sun emerges, a majestic sun, orange-red and glowing, rising in the sky,
glorious, and on fire, and like a vanishing child of wonder, healing me with
the heat of love.
THE DANCE OF TIFERET
By Mel Waldman
mwaldman18@earthlink.net
What is the Dance of Tiferet?
Listen to the flow of yellow and purple.
What is the Dance of Tiferet?
Beauty melting/blending in a sacred stream.
Now, listen to the gentle strong silky Voice of
Jacob and follow the holy flow of his words to
a secret place.
What is the Dance of Tiferet?
And enter the Garden of Eden.
In the middle of the central pillar of the Tree of Life
is a sphere of divine energy called Tiferet, which is
also Beauty. Some call it Truth. Others whisper:
“Harmony.”
Listen to the Voice of Jacob. And rush slowly to the center
of the Tree of Life. There, you will dance with Beauty,
the exquisite and mystical Dance of Tiferet.
Yes, listen to the Voice of Jacob and follow.
Listen to the flow of yellow and purple.
Enter the Garden of Eden and discover.
Rush slowly to the Tree of Life and listen to the Dance of Kabbalah,
the flow of 10 Sefirot (divine emanations) up and down the Tree
and throughout its secret labyrinth. Listen to the 10 Sefirot-
waves of celestial light-spheres of divine energy-dancing
with Kabbalah,
within
and around the Tree, whirling, swirling waves embracing, kissing,
inhaling the blinding white light of Ein Sof,
the Ultimate Nothingness,
and dancing the Dance of Divinity, in the vast vortex of holy flow,
approaching the center of the Tree, to dance with Tiferet in the
exquisite Ballet of Beauty.
In the middle of the left pillar, listen to the flow of red and gold, fused
together in the wave of light called the Sefirah Gevurah-
Judgment.
And listen to the flow of white and silver, fused together in the wave of
light called the Sefirah Chesed-
Mercy, in the middle of the
right pillar.
Flanked by Gevurah and Chesed, and ensconced in the middle of the
central pillar, a Wave of Beauty flows in yellow and purple,
fused together in the sphere of energy of Tiferet,
blending the flows of Gevurah and Chesed,
forming a magical triad of harmony.
Tiferet is the Voice of Jacob who struggled with the angel of G-d
and became Israel.
Jacob learned to balance Judgment and Mercy.
Now, listen to the gentle strong silky Voice of
Jacob and follow the holy flow of his words to
a secret place.
What is the Dance of Tiferet?
And enter the Garden of Eden.
Inhale the blinding white light
of Ein Sof,
the Ultimate Nothingness,
and
dance the Dance of Tiferet.
