Dedication
Those if us who visit or contribute to this website know that poetry is a
way of life, interchangeably, "love"....
So we embrace all which, like hot metal, transforms into cold, immutable
truth.
As an undergraduate I was fortunate to have as my teacher and friend,
the poet William Meredith, whose teaching gift inspired his students to
reach for the fire, the hot metal. Although in those days we often
disagreed about form, he seemed to modify his vision when he wrote of
stars, "And then who flung them there in a sowing motion/suggesting
that random is beautiful."

At seven pm on May 31, 2007, William Meredith passed away at the age of 88. Man, Poet, Teacher,
Friend, he will be mourned now and remembered always. We are grateful for his time on this earth. --C.
